Batman

World Cartoon - Batman. Batman Cartoon Film. In 1938 DC Comics was profiting excitedly from its new phenomenon: Superman. DC publisher Vin Sullivan would tell anyone and everyone that he wanted to have another superhero for the Detective Comics series. Bob Kane was one of those who heard Sullivan’s talk. Late one night in 1939, Kane set to work and by morning he had created one of the most popular characters in American history: Batman.

Batman is interesting because he is such a combination of people and things. The drawings of Da Vinci, the persona of Zorro, the style of 1930’s horror films and the movie ‘The Bat’ all consciously influenced the look and feel of Kane’s creation. There are also underpinnings of The Shadow and Sherlock Holmes in his actions. Kane took his drawings to Bill Finger (often uncredited but a major force in Batman’s creation) and together they worked out some stories which Sullivan immediately jumped at. In May 1939 Batman made his first appearance in Detective Comics #27 and was an immediate hit. The early Batman was a dark, moody creature (and for several issues he even carried a gun).
In Detective Comics 33 (November 1939) his origin was fully fleshed out. The story of a boy who saw his parents murdered and then set out to ‘avenge’ them took hold of comic book readers and Batman’s popularity soared higher. In spring of 1940 he became the star of a second comic title: Batman. That spring also added an important piece of the Batman legend: Detective Comics 38 gave us the first appearance of Robin. Robin was an immediate boost to the title, lightening up the series while giving it added weight among the younger readers.
One of the most popular and important pieces of the Batman myth are the villains. Batman may have more recognizable villains than any other superhero. That first issue of Batman presented the first appearances of two of the most popular: The Joker and The Cat (who over time would become Catwoman). In 1941 a ‘cartooney’ version of the Penguin appeared and in 1942 Two-Face (inspired by Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde) stole onto the scene.

By the early 1940’s Batman’s popularity was in full swing and the Batmobile, Batsignal and Batplane were all firmly in place. He also became the star of his own newspaper strip and in 1943 jumped onto the silver screen in the 15-part serial ‘Batman’. It was here where Alfred the Butler first appeared. Soon he would make the transition into a comic book regular. Another comic book regular was Vicki Vale who appeared first in 1948. Vicki was Bruce Wayne’s steady girlfriend up through 1963.

Batman did appear on radio during the late forties but it was only as a guest star on Superman’s program. It would be the first time that the two heroes worked together (They first appeared in the comics in Superman 76 (1952)).

The 1950’s saw a slight decline in Batman’s popularity (many comics took a slight downturn) and believability with the introduction of many science fiction and ‘gimmick’ storylines (an idea taken from the Superman series). Among these were the introductions of Batwoman, Batgirl, Ace the Bat-Hound and Bat-Mite.

In the 1960’s Batman roared back, carrying the Comic book world with him. On January 12, 1966 ‘Batman’ appeared on ABC. Starring Adam West as Batman, the show opened on a Wednesday and ended the half-hour with a ‘cliff-hanger’. The very next night, the action resumed. The Pop Art influence, campiness, cliffhangers and guest star villains all made the show an immediate smash success. Comic book sales boomed as the show ran for 26 months before fading out as fast as it had started in 1968.

Comic book sales declined also and Batman relaxed into a period of ‘non-excitement’. He continued his capers in the comics and on television as a member of the animated ‘Superfriends’ in the 1970’s. But his work in the 70’s was pretty status quo (his appearance with Robin on ‘Scooby Doo’ is seen by many as a testament to this ‘blandness’).

1986 was a pivotal year in the saga. First, Frank Miller created the limited series ‘The Dark Knight Returns’. Set in the future, it told the story of an older Bruce Wayne and a Batman who had become a ‘God of Vengeance’. It was a much-needed link from Batman’s beginnings to his future.

Later that year, Batman and Robin took part in a 4-issue story in which they fought the Joker. In the midst of their battles, the Joker exploded a bomb that left Robin lying in Batman’s arms. The next page contained a 900 number which allowed readers to choose whether Robin lived or died. In the next issue we learn of Robin’s death. The audacity of the gimmick and the death of a major character pushed Batman back into the spotlight, a light that would grow even brighter with the 1989 movie ‘Batman’ (directed by Tim Burton and starring Michael Keaton). The film proved to be immensely popular and turned out to be the first of four live action Batman movies. The Nineties also saw the rebirth of Batman on television. In 1992 ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ debuted on Fox. Like the previous Batman incarnations on TV, it was immediately recognizable thanks to its design. This time though the look was very stylized, very moody, evoking the work of Bob Kane on the early Batman comics as well as the Fleischer Superman cartoons. The series featured all of the old villains, plus a few new favorites. In 1993 one of these appeared with Batman on the big screen in ‘Batman: Mask of the Phantasm’.

Batman has continued to grow and expand, there are theme-park rides named after him, new movies being planned and ever involving comic book stories. What direction will Batman take next? It’s a question that even the World’s Greatest Detective may not be able to answer, we are sure though it will be thrilling.

Spiderman

World Cartoon - Spiderman. Spiderman was created by Stan Lee for Marvel Comics in 1962, the character first appearing that year in Amazing Fantasy #15. Because the superhero was immediately popular, Amazing Fantasy was renamed Amazing Spider-Man. A year later, Stan Lee was promoted and became the youngest editor in the comic book industry. It was primarily due to Spider-Man that Marvel Comics became one of the dominant comic-book publishers by the start of the next decade. In 1977, Spider-Man became the star of his own newspaper strip, achieving equal success in the new medium, ultimately appearing in more than 500 newspapers around the world. Although other super hero comic strips have come and gone, the Spider-Man strip achieved success as the longest running of them all. Spider-Man was written throughout from the start until the late 1990s by Stan Lee, while his younger brother Larry Lieber drew the daily newspaper comics for Marvel since the late 1980's when Larry replaced Fred Kids as the artist for "The Amazing Spider-Man."

1967 saw the first animated Spider-Man television series, premiering on ABC and running throughout the 1967 and 1968 seasons. A third season was not aired but was later released into syndication. From 1977 to 1979, a live action Spider-Man TV series was attempted. Previous decades had seen the successful 1960s live-action Batman television series, and the 1950s live-action Superman series. But the Spider-man series lasted from only two years. The animated version of Spider-man made a return to television in 1981 and a syndicated solo series played from 1981-1982. Afterwards came "Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends". The friends included Incredible Hulk, Firestar, and Iceman, and aired on NBC from 1982 to 1985. The 1990s Spider-Man was more successful, running form 1994-1998 for a total of 65 episodes. By this time Japanese anime was the rage, and a Spider-Man limited series was short-lived and taken off the air to make room for Digimon.
Peter Parker was about four when his parents were killed in a plane crash. As a result, he was raised by his Uncle Ben and Aunt May. In school, Peter was aloof from his classmates, and appeared as a weak and nerdish outsider. During a school outing, Peter visited a science demonstration of radiation technology. During the demonstration, a radioactive spider crept into a beam of radiation, generated by the experiment. It dropped down and nipped the hand of the unsuspecting Peter. The boy felt ill and left the science demonstration to go home. Walking along the street, he was nearly run over by a speeding car, but found he was able to leap more than a hundred feet and cling to the side of a building in order to escape. As the days pass, he discovered his enhanced strength, agility, and the amazing powers of a spider. His new abilities had been amplified by the spider's passage through the beam of radiation. The result was superhuman reflexes, the spider-like abilities to cling to surfaces, an increased mental alertness, an ability to sense danger, and the most important power of all, the ability to spin and shoot web strands to great distances which then functioned like powerful vines. These enabled Peter to travel rapidly across large distances and heights. Where Superman was able to fly, and even to leave the atmosphere of the earth, Spider-Man was restricted to traveling throughout city environments, albeit rapidly and at great heights. The opportunistic and inventive teenager tried to earn some money as a wrestler, in which he disguised himself with a mask and suit, the costume gradually evolving into the Spider-Man uniform. One evening, after a fight, he goes back to his change room and crosses paths with a burglar. Peter chooses not interfere, believing that it was not his responsibility. Days later, Peter returns home from school and discovers that his Uncle Ben has been murdered by a burglar. He tracks the criminal and captures him, only then recognizing the man as the same burglar he had ignored days earlier in the change room. This leaves Peter guilty and vaults him into the world of fighting crime. He swears to fight evil from that day on.

It was Stan Lee's creativeness that also invented the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk. Spider-Man has appeared in almost every conceivable media format including a Nintendo Video game in 2000. The 2002 release of the first Spider-Man movie, starring Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Willem Dafoe as his arch-enemy, and Kirsten Dunst as the love of his life, girl-next-door "Mary Jane Watson". Directed by Sam Raimi, the first movie was a commercial success and an artistic achievement, that has already led to a much awaited sequel.

Superman

World Cartoon - Superman. Superman is the sole survivor of the planet Krypton. His father, Jor-El, discovered that a nuclear chain reaction was building inside Krypton that would soon shatter the entire world. Jor-El therefore had his unborn son Kal-El removed from the Kryptonian Gestation Chambers and affixed the life matrix containing Kal-El to an experimental vessel for travel through hyperspace. Jor-El launched the starcraft toward Earth just before Krypton exploded.

Superman was, in effect, born on Earth when the starcraft landed there. Jonathan and Martha Kent found the infant inside the vessel and brought him to their farm in Smallville, Kansas. Since he appeared entirely human, the Kents assumed that the baby was a victim of a cruel experiment. At this time the baby had no super powers. The Kents named the infant Clark and raised him as their own son.

As clark grew older his Kryptonian body began developing superhuman abilities. When Clark was eighteen, took him to the field where his starcraft still lay hidden and explained how he and Martha had found him. Clark resolved to use his powers from then on only for the good of mankind. After revealing his secret to his childhood friend, Lana Lang, Clark left Smallville to study at Metropolis University.

Clark initially used his powers covertly to help people and prevent or thwart disasters. Ultimately, he was forced to use his powers in public to prev ent the crash of a NASA space-plane. Thereafter he and his foster parents devised a new costumed secret identity he would adopt when using his abilities in public. They called his new persona "Superman," the name given him by Lois Lane, a reporter for the Metropolis Daily Planet who had been aboard the space-plane.

Shortly afterward, Clark obtained a job as a reporter for the Daily Planet by turning in his first detailed story about Superman. He currently enjoys a freelance status with the Planet.

Some time ago Superman journeyed to an otherdimensional "pocket universe" that had its own Krypton and Earth. After defeating three Kryptonians native to that universe who had murdered the entire population of its Earth, Superman executed the trio, believing there was no other way to stop them. The tremendous guilt Superman felt over this act combined by the psychic manipulation by his foe Braniac, caused him to develop a temporary split personality. Believing himself to be potentially dangerous to humanity, Superman exiled himself to space, eventually taken prisoner by the forces of the alien tyrant Mongul. During this time Superman resolved never to kill again...."

Superman lives by the traditional moral values instilled in him by his foster parents. Superman is an idealist, devoted to promoting "truth, justice, and the American way," and has proved over and over that he is a true hero, capable of whatever bravery and self-sacrifice is necessary to right a wrong or save a life.

Powers and Weapons

Since Superman is a native of Krypton, a planet that had a red sun, under a yellow sun (like that of Earth's his Kryptonian cells act as living solar batteries, absorbing solar energy and giving him superhuman powers. He possesses tremendous strength; while Superman's strength is not infinite, its full extent is so grea that it has never been accurately measured. His body is virtually indesrtuctible.

Superman's sharp senses enable him to hear souns too faint to be detected by the normal human ear. His "telescopic vision" enables him to focus his sight on distant objects far beyond the range of normal human sight. His "microscopic vision" allows him to observe an object in microscopic detail. Superman's so called "x-ray vision" enables him to see clearly through solid objects. Certain dense materials, notably lead, obstruct this ability. His power to generate heat within objects manifests itself as a red glow within his eyes, and is therefore known as "heat vision."

Superman can move, react, and think at superhuman speeds greater than that of sound. He can defy gravity and fly through force of will. Superman's irradiated cells generate a force field that extends for a fraction of an inch around his body, rendering any material within the field nearly indestructible, such as his skin tight costume. (Because his cape extends beyond the field, it is easily damaged.)

Superman is vulnerable to the radiation of Kryptonite, a substance from his native planet. Kryptonite radiation will kill Superman within minutes. He is also vulnerable to magic, and to the psionic powers of some beings, such as Braniac.

Superman must fill his lungs with air before flying through outer space. He can thus survive without breathing for several hours, but ulitmately he must replenish his oxygen supply to remain alive.

A Thing About Supes and Lex

So many of you braniacs have no idea why the heck Lex hates Supes guts so much. Well it's about time you finally learned. In the Golden Age of Comics The Golden age is the beginning era of comics starting from the 1930s up through the mid-1950s, during which comic books enjoyed a surge of popularity while the debute and archetype of the superhero was created and defined. Remember, comics used to be about detective stories and mysteries and fanatasies and... space monsters abducting beautiful, bodacious women.

So now... Lex Luthor's background has undergone several changes and rewrites, but let's stick to the Golden Age. When Luthor first debuted in Action Comics #23 in 1940, he was shown with a full head of red hair. Later, the following year in Superman #10, Luthor appeared totally bald in. Go figure.

In his first appearance in Action Comics #23, Luthor (hr was not known as Lex, only Luthor) is a megalomaniacal genius who makes his home in a flying city suspended by an airship kind of like... Dr. Doom meets Lando Calrisian. Luthor first tries to ignite a war between two European nations as part of a larger plan for world domination. Bwa ha ha ha.

In Superman #4, he is later found hiding out in an underwater city, where he has been terrorizing the planet with man-made earthquakes. Remember Gene Hackman and Christopher Reeve in Superman the movie? Same thing. When confronted by Superman, Luthor challenges him to a contest of strength versus science, which is about as stupid as things can get in comics. Of course Superman agreed.

Speed ahead to the Silver Age of Comics which was the period of time between the late 1950s to the early 1970s. In Adventure Comics #271 (1962), Jerry Siegel retroactively rewrote the origin story (god only knows how many times that a retroactive rewrite has been done since then) that reveals that Lex's hatred for Superman stems from a past encounter during his youth, Lex had been an aspiring scientist and a friend of Superboy. Lex was working on some experiments that had something to do with creating an artificial newo-life form along with a cure for Kryptonite poisoning.

An accidental fire breaks out in Lex's lab, as is usually the case when creating a new life form, and Superboy arrives but, unfortunately, decides to use his super-breath to extinguish the flames, inadvertently spilling chemicals all over Lex (just like with Barry Allen but diferent) which causes Luthor to go prematurely bald. The botched rescue also destroys Lex's artificial lifeform, along with the Kryptonite cure. Believing that Superboy intentionally caused the accident, Lex attributes his actions to jealousy and vows revenge to destroy Superboy.

Uncle Scrooge

In the midst of rolling hills Duckburg, warehouses stood with tegarnya money. The walls were thick, impenetrable bullet, even equipped with sensors antimaling and witches. Contents: 12 140 cubic meters of ready cash. Workers in it less than five. And the owner: Scrooge McDuck, the richest duck in the world.
Who is Scrooge?
Although we often read the story, we rarely know who he really is. At least until Carl Banks, the creator, making The Duck Family Tree. Then a few years ago, it was not yet complete genealogical enhanced with various changes by the author and illustrator Don Rosa into a long epic 12-volume entitled The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck.
Scrooge (Scrooge McDuck real name) was hatched in Scotland in 1867 as the first child of three brothers. His father, Fergus McDuck, one (or a?) Descendant of the Scottish nobility. His mother called Downy O'Drake and two sisters named Matilda and Hortense. Hortense McDuck Quackmore marry later this has a son named Duck and Donald Duck and the daughter who later became the mother of Huey, Dewey, Louie.
Although the descendants of the aristocracy, family life deprived McDuck. Castle they had been seized by the descendants Whiskerville since the 17th century. Small Scrooge living by selling firewood around the city.
At a very young age, Scrooge decides adventure to America as the crew. He arrived in Louisville, Mississippi river, and got a job as captain of the ship that brought Dilly Dollar gold nugget to New Orleans. Barriers began to arise when he meets a family Boys gang.
Gober settled in 1882 Fonebone Hotel, Montana, as a cowherd. He was involved in the war and never come rolling cattle bandits Jesse James. Year 1902 Scrooge taking the time to go home, and her father died not long hose. Scrooge back to America brought with Hortense and Matilda. He headed Duck and the City of Casey Killmotor buy Prul hill. Here he founded his money and began building the warehouse empire. Casey himself is the grandson of Cornelis Prul Prul, founder of Duckburg. He is the grandfather Gus Goose and Elvira Prul siblings, we know with the title Grandma Duck.
Duck City itself is not so anything at that time. "I bought this hill when it was still empty. I woke up my wealth and saw ... the city has grown around me."
Too serious for a comic? No, I think. Comics, behind all kejenakaannya, keep the work and ideas that do not play games. When a child or your nephew to read comics and chuckled, then he was a normal child. When you read the old comics and still giggles, then you are blessed because the people who really mature. Maturity may be measured by the ability to laugh at themselves. And in a good comics, all the absurdities of life we are shown nude, but smart. "Fiction," Virginia Woolf sastrawati said, "must be able to deliver more truth than fact."
Unfortunately, the translation of the clan "McDuck" to "duck" into the Indonesian language in a literary taste less precise. This translation sounds really nice on the ears, but make Scrooge look like a duck and not a duck Scotland. Why Scotland? Both Carl Banks and Don Rosa had no answer. But this would give room for Duck fans like my family to merekatafsirkan semiotic possibilities.
Scotland, over the extent of the United Kingdom, is a region which has witnessed a clear history of what is called the pullback of the knight and the rise of the merchant. Warrior class falling into poverty, and a new generation of Scots live with new realities, that the property is more powerful than the throne.
Since the regime of military dictatorship puritanical Oliver Cromwell with the army collapsed in the UK, one social system that is more loosely applied. Monarchy stood back, but the king had no right to arbitrarily over the country. In a situation like that England gave birth to Isaac Newton, John Locke, spinning machines, Industrial Revolution, and Adam Smith.
Do not forget that the remains of Cromwell's Puritanism bequeathed who later gave birth to what Max Weber called the "Protestant ethic": the ethos to refrain from carnal pleasure with scrimped and saved. Within the framework of Weberian sociology, this kind of ethos that makes capitalism, drove fast. Wealth is created from the sweat and hard work. Then Scrooge McDuck is the perfect blend of all Scottish history was.
Actually, there's nothing wrong with ambition and attitude kikirnya. We ourselves are often amazed to hear a success story of someone who started from zero. But questions began to arise when Scrooge does not know when to quit. "He's got money and all that can be bought by money," said Matilda McDuck. But Scrooge only interested in "money" and not interested in "everything that can be bought by money." It played a bunch of money to make money again. Propagate his business to master every production sector Duckburg.
Until one time been told that the Duck Town residents do not want to buy anything anymore, since buying goods means "miserly that enrich the duck." Then what? If consumers really do not buy, means of production must be stopped. Not afraid to Scrooge? Probably not. After all, people still have needs. After all he was entitled to sack employees: Donald perhaps, or Mrs. Emily secretary, or the driver Duckworth. So endangered is the consumers and the working class itself, not him. Karl Kautsky, the social democrat leader, once said: "Production should continue. If not, the whole society will collapse, including the proletarian class." And? The usual Disney illustrator complete story with farce or a chase scene to Timbuktu. Understandably, they are not economists.
But let's look at one another wealthy American (people, not ducks) named Rockefeller. Success story does not start from the gold, but of oil. And he is not a honest hard worker who like Scrooge, he was deceitful. Rockefeller signed a secret contract with the transport entrepreneurs to distribute the oil. As a result, its competitors fall off rapidly, and companies had lackluster diborongnya one by one until they run out. Inevitably countrywoman oil mastered. Did greed? Almost, if Americans do not have a free press and the Supreme Court. Due to a journalist writing in the Atlantic Monthly, awareness about the dangers of monopoly successfully excited. The Supreme Court convened and the Antimonopoly Law was read for the first time in May 1911. Current law, and greed stopped.
